    We are proud to announce that prof. Agata Zawiszewska and prof. Henryk Walczak on 14 June 2023 were awarded a professor degree by Mr Andrzej Duda, the President of the Republic of Poland. 

    Prof. Agata Zawiszewska is a professor of humanities, literary scholar, working since 1995 at the University of Szczecin, currently employed at the Institute of Literature and New Media. She is the author of books and articles on literary studies, co-editor of collective monographs, editor and editor of anthologies. She conducts research mainly on periodicals, literature and literary culture of the interwar period. A large part of her scientific achievements concerns women’s literature, which was created in Poland from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries to the mid-20th century. An important element of her work is the popularization of knowledge about Polish literature. 

    Prof. Henryk Walczak, an employee of the Institute of History of the University of Szczecin, conducts research in the field of Polish-Romanian relations in the interwar period, the history of the Polish Army and biographies. He is the author and co-author of many publications that are recognized not only among specialists. This year for the monograph “One nation with two banners. Polish-Romanian alliance (1918) 1921-1926. Documents and materials”, published together with prof. Krzysztof Nowak from the University of Silesia, received a distinction in the prestigious competition for the prof. Jerzy Skowronek, and in 2020, for the monograph entitled “Visits of heads of state as part of mutual relations between Poland and Romania in the interwar period (Szczecin: WNUS, 2019) in the Historical Competition of the Minister of Foreign Affairs for the best publications promoting the history of Polish diplomacy and the history of Poland in the category “The best publication in Polish on the history of Polish diplomacy”.
