The University of Szczecin and the Ministry of Education and Science have signed an agreement to organize postgraduate studies in teaching Polish as a foreign language. 25 Polish teachers from Argentina and Brazil will soon become students of the University of Szczecin.
The studies are a response to a significant increase in interest in learning Polish among South American Polonia. The initiative is a continuation of activities for the Polish diaspora initiated in 2022. by dr hab. Adrianna Seniów, prof. US and Dr. Nina Pielacińska during a visit to the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Buenos Aires.
The post-graduate studies commissioned by the Ministry of Education and Science are an important and expected support for their activities, they will enable the improvement of teaching skills, updating knowledge in the field of contemporary Polish language, Polish literature and culture. This will certainly increase the interest in learning Polish among South American Polonia, and thus contribute to the promotion of Polish culture in the world. The offer of postgraduate studies in Teaching Polish as a foreign/second/inherited language has been financed by the Ministry of Education and Science.
