The second season of excavations in Żelewo, conducted under the supervision of Dr. Katarzyna Ślusarska from the Department of Archeology of the University of Szczecin, is underway. This year young archaeologists from the United States of America, Canada and Australia joined students of the University of Szczecin thanks to the cooperation with the Slavia Project Foundation and Caly Poly Humboldt.
The Slavia Foundation is a non-profit organization whose aim is to promote Poland’s cultural heritage abroad and support archaeological research in Poland, implementing the Field School in Mortuary Archeology Poland educational project dedicated to students from universities in the United States of America and Canada.
