
The results of the latest edition of World’s Top 2% Scientists – a ranking of the world’s most influential scientists, prepared by Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevier – have been announced. The list, which includes all scientific achievements, includes seven names of US researchers, and the list, which includes citations to publications from the previous calendar year, includes eight.
The World’s Top 2% Scientists 2025 is a list that encompasses just 2 percent of scientists worldwide. The ranking is based on data from the Scopus database and consists of two lists. The first list encompasses the authors’ entire scientific achievements, including researchers no longer professionally active. The second list covers scientists’ achievements in 2024.

This year, the group of our representatives increased by three names, while the list of TOP 2% scientists for 2024 increased from seven to eight compared to last year. This distinction confirms that the work of University of Szczecin scientists has a significant impact on the development of science worldwide. Inclusion in such a list increases their international visibility, facilitates access to grants and collaboration with other research institutions, and highlights the quality of their scientific achievements.
