University of Szczecin and University of Greifswald have signed an agreement founding joint Polish-German teaching studies. Admission at both universities opens soon and the first students will start their education in October 2022.

The aim of the studies is to prepare future graduates to work as a teacher of Polish and German. In the first year of studies, the programme will be implemented at both home universities, then in the second year takes place in Greifswald, and in the third year – in Szczecin.
The study programme is focused on the practical aspect of education, students will undergo training in both countries and thus have the opportunity to learn about both school systems. A study period abroad and contact with students of the partner university also helps to broaden their intercultural skills. This joint teaching studies in Polish and German are one of the few such programmes  in Europe and the first cooperation of this type between Poland and Germany. The field of study not only opens up new career prospects for students, but also makes a significant contribution to the cultural exchange in the border region, and thus also to the connection of two neighboring countries.
