The Research Group continues a long tradition of research into the history of Pomerania, dating back to the end of the 16th century. It brings together researchers representing various scientific fields (historians, archaeologists, art historians, ethnologists) and covers many chronological periods. The primary objective of the group is to continue and develop research into the history of Pomerania as a region within the historical European legacy. Among the specific objectives four spheres of activity should be mentioned as follows:
1. initiating scientific discussion, organising events such as conferences, lectures and seminars;
2. initiating scientific projects and publications;
3. establishing or deepening cooperation with other scientific centres and scientists involved in Pomeranian studies;
4. coordinating activities that promote knowledge about Pomerania and supporting initiatives that propagate the past of this area.
