• 9 DECEMBER 2025

On 3 December 2025, during the Innovation Gala organized by the Marshal’s Office of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, young scientists from our University who submitted their applications in the “Western Pomerania Innovator” competition were recognized. The projects of the awarded researchers demonstrate the dynamic development of modern science and the important role the University of Szczecin plays in these changes.

Award Winner – Bartosz Zamorski, M.Sc.
Project: Modal Decomposition Algorithms as a New Diagnostic Tool in Fusion Reactors
A doctoral student developed an innovative method for analyzing data from fusion reactors, utilizing advanced mathematics and machine learning techniques. The solutions developed allow for a better understanding of the processes occurring inside the reactors and may, in the future, find applications in other areas requiring the analysis of very high-resolution images.

Honorable Mention – Dr. Jakub Śledziowski
    Project:
MORFEO – Automatic Morphodynamic Change Mapping System for Coastal Protection|
The MORFEO system enables monitoring of environmental changes on the coast, identifying natural hazards, and tracking the condition of cliffs, beaches, and dunes. Using remote sensing and spatial data analysis, the project supports both environmental protection and the safety of coastal areas.

Congratulations to our young researchers and thank you for their contribution to the development of science and the promotion of the University of Szczecin.
