    A meeting between university authorities and representatives of the Nanjing Sport Institute in China was held at the University of Szczecin Rector’s Office. Potential avenues for cooperation between the universities were discussed.

    Guests of Professor Andrzej Skrendo, Vice-Rector for Research at the University of Szczecin, included: Wu Bincheng, President of the Nanjing Sport Institute; Zhang Ming, Dean of the Academy of Martial Arts; Wang Jin, Dean of the Academy of Sports Industry and Recreation; Song Hu, Dean of the Youth Sports School; Li Long, Director of the Development and Planning Department; and Shao Yutao, Deputy Head of the International Affairs Department.

    On behalf of the University of Szczecin, the meeting was attended by: dr hab. Marta Stępień-Słodkowska, prof. US – Dean of the Faculty of Health and Physical Education, dr hab. Marek Sawczuk, prof. US – Director of the Institute of Physical Culture Sciences, dr hab. Katarzyna Leźnicka, prof. US – Deputy Director of the Doctoral School, dr hab. Agnieszka Maciejewska-Skrendo, prof. US and dr Halina Budis from the Institute of Physical Culture Sciences, Joanna Szwak – Head of the Section for Science at the Institute of Physical Culture Sciences, Małgorzata Kopalska – Deputy Head of the International Relations Department, and Joanna Czarnecka from the International Realtions Department.

    The meeting was devoted to exploring possible avenues of cooperation between the universities. A letter of intent was also signed, representing the first step in the activities that both institutions are prepared to implement. The delegation from Nanjing Sport Institute also visited the Faculty of Physical Education and Health and the Center for Human Structural and Functional Research, where they presented modern laboratories for kinesiology, exercise physiology, biochemistry, and genetics, enabling research in the fields of medical and health sciences, with a particular emphasis on physical education sciences.
