The online international seminar is organized by the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Szczecin in cooperation with the School of Law of the University of Rwanda and will take place on 13 June 2023.
For years, mediation has been seen as a basic extrajudicial method of resolving civil disputes, allowing to minimize costs, wasted time and feelings of uncertainty that may be associated with court proceedings. The aim of the seminar is to discuss the role of mediation in resolving legal disputes. In view of the continuous development of this form of ADR, it is the intention of the organizers to draw attention not only to the role, but also to the effectiveness of mediation in relieving the burden of justice on the basis of the different models used in each legal system.
The seminar is addressed to all those dealing with scientific and practical issues related to mediation. Due to the international nature of the seminar, the invitation is addressed to representatives of academic centres on the international stage, as well as to legal professionals, mediators dealing with mediation in practice. The invitation to passive participation is also addressed to students and doctoral students thinking about the profession of mediator in the future. We are happy to announce that speakers from Brasil, China, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Georgia, Italy, Lithuania, Malaysia, Poland, Rwanda and Spain have confirmed their participation.
