An international seminar “Fontes Iuris Romani: Typology and Research Methods” will be held on 25 February 2022 at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Szczecin. The seminar is devoted to the role of the sources of Roman law in the processes of shaping contemporary legal orders.

The invitation to deliver a lecture was accepted by recognized researchers from Belgium, Estonia, Finland, Great Britain, Italy and Poland. Defining and showing common roots is a priority, especially in the context of current attempts to build a uniform European private law. The special guest of the meeting will be prof. Jean-François Gerkens from the University of Liège – a chairman of Société Internationale Fernand de Visscher pour l’Histoire des Droits de l’Antiquité (SIHDA).
The seminar will be streamed on MS Teams.
