  • BalticMuseums: Love IT!

New brand of gamified tourist products for sustainable development of natural and cultural heritage tourist destinations.

  • Center for Molecular Biology and Biotechnology

The project covers establishing infrastructure for realization of the tasks of the Center for Molecular Biology and Biotechnology: establishing functional and research infrastructure.
The Laboratory of Molecular Biology with the Cytogenetics and Protoemics Laboratory as well as the Laboratory of Environmental Research with a collection of plants and seed stores in Małkocin operate within the framework of the Center of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology.

    The Center consist of:
    – the Laboratory of Molecular Biology with the Cytogenetics and Protoemics Laboratory
    – the Laboratory of Environmental Research in Małkocin,
    – research groups of the Institute of Biology: Department of Hydrobiology, Department of Physiology and Biochemistry (the research team engaged in studies of therapeutic potential of plants), molecular biology research team, infective and molecular biology and immunology research team,
    – Institute of Marine and Environmental Sciences: the geobotany team, the ecology and nature preservation team, the invertebrate zoology and the limnology team,
and individually operating scientists of the Institute of Biology of the University of Szczecin.

The Center of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology presents the opportunity for engaging in wide-reaching actions in the molecular biology and biotechnology industries and thus influences scientific development and improves level of education. An important aspect of the project is developing an environment for realization of high-level innovative projects. The cooperation established with the breeding and seed cultivating companies as well as agricultural companies will increase innovativeness in the region.

  • Framework for Gamified Programming Education

The primary objective of the project is to provide a framework for application of gamification to programming education, including the necessary specifications (of the gamification scheme and the exercise definition format), collection of gamified exercises (for popular programming languages) and software (a toolset for editing the exercises and an interactive learning environment providing them to the students). The target group of the project are programming instructors and students learning programming (also self-teaching).

  • eLBRUS - Research and Development Laboratories

The eLBRUS Research and Development Laboratories of the the University of Szczecin enable engaging in wide-reaching studies in the fields of physics of nuclear reactions, physics of medicine, optics, physics of polymers, solid-state physics,  spectroscopy of nuclear magnetic resonance, physics of materials as well as in innovative and high-level cross-disciplinary studies.

Furthermore, establishing eLBRUS laboratories enabled developing new diagnostic and analytic technologies in the fields of:

    • application of nuclear technologies in materials science
    • search for new, alternative sources of energy
    • researching thermal properties of soft matter and animate matter
    • application of nanofluids technologies in medicine
    • new radiotherapeutic techniques for fighting against neoplastic diseases
    • modern laser technologies
    • optical examination of surface of objects
    • researching structure and dynamics of solid bodies
  • Centre for Human Structural and Functional Research

Centre for Human Structural and Functional Research is one of the best equipped and cutting-edge units engaged in the scientific research in the field of physical culture, sport and sports medicine.

  • Herbarium Pomeranicum

Integrated Virtual Herbarium of the Pomeranian Region – Herbarium Pomeranicum – digitization and sharing of the resources of herbaria of the academic units in the Pomeranian region by connecting herbaria and digital sharing.

The strategic goal of the project is reinforcing digital foundation for development of the country through digitization and sharing resources of the Pomeranian herbaria on-line.

Leader of the project – Pomeranian University in Słupsk, along with partner universities: the University of Gdańsk and the University of Szczecin, intends to digitize and share resources of the Pomeranian herbaria on-line.

Owing to implementation of the project the costs of accessing resources of the herbaria will be lowered and the access to works of Polish researchers will improve. On-line sharing of the information regarding resources of herbaria with public services and entities engaged in managing natural resources is planned.

  • Natural Sciences Education and Research Center

The Natural Sciences Education and Research Center of the University of Szczecin is utilized by students of the University of Szczecin in the following priority fields of study:

    • education within the framework of full-time short/long cycle studies in the priority fields of study: biology, biotechnology, geology, mathematics, physics, natural environment preservation and engineering and related fields of study,
    • education and research work within the framework of third cycle studies (postgraduate students).

The Center also educates priority discipline students in the following fields of study: geography, land management, tourism and recreation.

Practical classes within the framework of the following laboratories (4) and workshops (10) are provided on the premises: laboratory of genetics of monocelluar organisms, maritime biology laboratory, sedimentology laboratory, hydrochemistry laboratory, geochronology workshop, geological cartography workshop, microscopical workshop (biology), paleobiology workshop, computer workshop, microscopical workshop (geology), economic geology workshop, stratigraphy and regional geology workshop, engineering geology and geotechnical engineering workshop, fluorescence microscopy workshop.

  • The University of Szczecin - a leader of the future

As the largest university in the Pomeranian region to meet expectations of our current and future students we dynamically expand the educative and technological capacity of the future-oriented units and faculties of the University of Szczecin.
The actions planned within the framework of the project are aimed at improving educative potential of the University of Szczecin and creating a more attractive educational offer.  By investing in modern, cutting-edge equipment and additional remedial classes, education in the supported fields became more attractive for current and future students. Owing to significant aid of the Academic Careers Service of the University of Szczecin students and graduates of the university will fit in perfectly with the labour market and will be able to find employment consistent with their education.

The primary beneficiary of all these changes is a student who can count on the high standard of the imparted knowledge as well as learning in excellently equipped specialist laboratories when beginning education at the University of Szczecin.
