
Students of the University of Szczecin took part in a debate on “Economic stability in Europe and the entry of young people into the labour market” and talked with Kata Tüttő, President of the European Committee of the Regions, and Olgierd Geblewicz, Marshal of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship and host of the meeting of the Presidium of the European Committee of the Regions in Szczecin.
The meeting took place at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Szczecin. The guests were welcomed by dr hab. Kinga Flaga-Gieruszyńska, prof. US, Vice-Rector for the Organization, as well as the authorities of the faculty; dr Beata Kanarek, Vice-Dean for Education and dr hab. Wojciech Staszewski, prof. US, Vice-Dean for Student Affairs. The debate was moderated by dr Elżbieta Ociepa-Kicińska from the Institute of Spatial Economy and Socio-Economic Geography.
The CoR Bureau, which brings together local government officials from 27 EU countries, will meet in Szczecin and focus on issues such as cohesion policy, security and energy. The CoR President Kata Tütto met with several dozen students from the University of Szczecin to discuss their prospects on the job market in the context of changes observed in Europe and the world. Issues discussed included: entering the job market, problems and needs of young people and differences in individual countries.
The event enjoyed great interest on the part of students, as well as members of the Committee of the Regions, i.e. councillors, mayors, presidents of regions, and journalists.
