    The University of Szczecin hosted the Jornadas Formativas para profesores ELE – a training course that brought together Spanish teachers from across the province. This is part of our university’s collaboration with the University of Salamanca.

    The event was organized by Dr. Nina Pielacińska from the Institute of Literature and New Media at the University of Szczecin – director of the Spanish Center for Education and Library Resources – in collaboration with the Center for Educational Development (ORE) and the Office of the Education Counselor of the Spanish Embassy in Poland (Consejería de Educación). The training was led by professors from the University of Salamanca:

    • Alberto Buitrago – topic: practical strategies for teaching grammar and incorporating a cultural component into the classroom;
    • Ana Vanesa Gil Álvez – topic: the role of immersion stays in Spain as support for language learning.
    • Antonio José Navarro Betancor from the Office of the Education Counselor of the Spanish Embassy in Poland also participated in the meeting.

    Participants had the opportunity to visit the Spanish Education and Library Resources Center at the Interfaculty Library of the University of Szczecin, which serves as an important center for the development and promotion of Spanish language and culture at the University of Szczecin.

    The presence of representatives from the Spanish Embassy and the University of Salamanca, as well as the strong interest from teachers from across the region, confirm the importance of the event and the University of Szczecin’s position as a major center for research on Spanish language and culture.
