    The World Congress of Young Philologists is taking place at the University of Szczecin on 15 – 17 May 2025. On the eve of the event, the Congress guests met with Prof. Waldemar Tarczyński, Rector of the University of Szczecin, and dr hab. Kinga Flaga-Gieruszyńska, prof. of the University of Szczecin, Vice-Rector for Organization.

    The meeting was attended by Prof. Simón José Suárez Cuadros from the University of Granada in Spain, Prof. Said Guliamow and Dr. Anna Abydullaeva from the University of Tashkent in Uzbekistan, Prof. Anna Petrikova from the University of Prešov in Slovakia, and Prof. Ewa Komorowska from the Institute of Linguistics of the University of Szczecin, who chairs the organizing committee of the Congress.

    The congress is organized by employees of the Institute of Linguistics of the University of Szczecin in cooperation with the University of Granada. Students from the Slavic Studies Club, Puerta del Sol Studies Club, and the Young German Studies Club have joined the activities. It is taking place at the Pobierowo Training and Recreation Center of the University of Szczecin.

    The congress is part of the “World of Slavs in Language and Culture” conference series with a long tradition. This year’s meeting will be attended by over 70 speakers from all over the world. Lectures will be given by guests from Japan, China, Uzbekistan, Slovakia, Germany, Spain, Croatia, the Czech Republic, as well as from academic centers from all over Poland. PhD students and students will also present their papers. It will be an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas and establish contacts.

    The event was held under the honorary patronage of: the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Marshal of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, the Rector of the University of Szczecin, as well as media patronage: TVP3 Szczecin, TVP Info, Radio Szczecin, Uniwizja – television of the University of Szczecin, NiUS Radio of the University of Szczecin and Kurier Szczeciński.
