    Our University’s collections have been recently enriched with a unique map of the Duchy of Pomerania from a turn of the XVIII century.

    A map by an anonymous author, it shows the lands of the former Duchy of Pomerania after the division between Sweden and Brandenburg. In the lower part, a view of Wismar, where the tribunal (supreme court) for the German possessions of the Swedish crown was located. Technique: colored copper engraving. The map was purchased by SEC Szczecińska Energetyka Cieplna and donated to the University of Szczecin.

    The meeting was hosted by prof. Andrzej Skrendo – Vice-Rector for Science, the University of Szczecin was represented as by dr hab. Radoslaw Skrycki, prof. of the University of Szczecin from the Institute of History, Ms. Urszula Ganakowska – Director of the Main Library, while the SEC was represented by Maciej Łabuń – Vice-President, Member of the Board, Ewa Chmielewska, director of the marketing and communication department, and Patrycja Kwiecień, an employee of the marketing department (former history student at the University of Szczecin) .
